Job Overview

The Quality Control Chemist will play a critical role in ensuring that all beverage products manufactured at our Choma facility adhere to strict chemical and physical specifications. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine chemical and physical analysis on raw materials, ingredients, and finished beverage products.

  • Conduct titration, chromatography, and spectroscopy tests to verify ingredient concentrations.
  • Document all test results accurately in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Investigate deviations in product quality and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure precision and accuracy in all measurements.
  • Collaborate with the production team to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce waste.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, ISO 9001, and FSSC 22000 standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in data recording and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot chemical deviations.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment.

Education

A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline is mandatory. Professional certification in Food Safety or Quality Management Systems is highly advantageous.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the food or beverage manufacturing industry. Proven experience in quality control within a large-scale industrial plant is essential for success in this role.
