Job Overview

The Senior Audit Manager will lead audit engagements for a broad spectrum of clients, ensuring compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and Zambian regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and supervise complex audit engagements for clients in manufacturing, mining, agriculture and services sectors.
  • Develop risk‑based audit strategies, assess internal controls, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead and mentor audit teams of up to 10 professionals, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports, financial statements, and management letters that meet regulatory standards.
  • Engage with senior client stakeholders to discuss findings, provide strategic insights, and support decision‑making.
  • Stay updated on changes in Zambian tax law, IFRS, and global audit standards to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives by identifying new service opportunities and preparing proposals.

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge of ISA, IFRS and Zambian Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior executives.
  • Proficiency in audit software such as KPMG Clara, IDEA or ACL.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of developing junior staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent are highly preferred. Continuous professional development through KPMG’s learning platforms is encouraged.

Experience

Minimum of eight years of progressive audit experience in a public accounting firm or a large corporate audit department. Prior experience managing audit engagements for clients in the mining, agriculture or energy sectors will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of the total rewards structure.
