Job Overview

The E-Commerce UX Researcher will be responsible for understanding user behaviors, needs, and motivations through various qualitative and quantitative research methods. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate research findings into actionable insights that improve the end-to-end shopping journey. This role is critical for identifying friction points in the mobile and web interfaces used by our customers in Zambia. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct end-to-end user research studies including usability testing, ethnographic studies, and longitudinal research.
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns in user behavior and shopping trends within the Zambian market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop personas and customer journey maps to guide design and engineering decisions.
  • Advocate for user-centricity throughout the entire product design process.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level position.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least 5 years of professional experience in UX research, specifically within a high-traffic digital product or e-commerce environment. Proven experience in managing large-scale research projects from conception to completion is essential.
