Job Overview
The Enterprise Cloud Solutions Architect will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud‑based solutions for IBM’s enterprise clients in Zambia and the broader Southern African region. Key Responsibilities
- Design end‑to‑end cloud architectures that meet client requirements for performance, security, and compliance.
- Lead technical workshops and proof‑of‑concept sessions with enterprise customers.
- Collaborate with IBM’s sales teams to develop solution proposals and pricing models.
- Provide guidance on migration strategies from legacy systems to cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Ensure solutions adhere to industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and IBM best practices.
- Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and competitive offerings.
- Contribute to thought leadership by publishing whitepapers, case studies, and blog posts.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and micro‑services architecture.
- Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Experience with security frameworks (Zero Trust, IAM, encryption).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical designs.
- Project management capabilities and agile methodology familiarity.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with a master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF) will be given preference.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience designing and delivering enterprise cloud solutions. Prior experience in consulting or a technology services environment is highly desirable. Demonstrated success in leading multi‑disciplinary teams and managing large‑scale cloud transformation projects is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based bonuses and benefits are offered.
