Job Overview
The Senior Waste Management Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of waste collection and processing systems for Veolia Zambia’s clients in the Eastern Province. You will be responsible for developing technical solutions that increase recycling rates, reduce landfill dependency, and improve overall operational efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with municipal authorities, private sector partners, and internal cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with Zambian environmental regulations and international standards. Key Responsibilities

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of waste management technologies, including composting, anaerobic digestion, and material recovery facilities.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
- Excellent project management abilities with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Effective communication skills for interfacing with government officials, clients, and community groups.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive evidence‑based decisions.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages (e.g., Nyanja, Chewa) is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEM) are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience

Salary
