Job Overview

The Senior Project Controls Engineer will join the Project Management Office (PMO) in Solwezi, overseeing cost, schedule, and performance monitoring for large‑scale construction projects. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Prepare cost forecasts, variance analyses, and earned value reports for senior management.
• Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to ensure data integrity.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Support contract administration and change order evaluation.
• Lead regular project control meetings and present performance dashboards.
• Implement best practices and standardize reporting templates across the portfolio.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with expertise in earned value management.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized Project Controls qualification are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of eight (8) years of hands‑on experience in project controls within the construction or infrastructure sector. Prior experience in cement, aggregates, or large‑scale industrial projects is preferred. Demonstrated success in delivering projects on schedule and within budget is essential.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based incentives and aligns with market standards for senior engineering roles in Zambia.
