Job Overview

This role involves analyzing geospatial data to support environmental and infrastructure projects across Zambia. The position requires expertise in GIS software, remote sensing, and data visualization to produce actionable insights for clients in agriculture, mining, and urban development. Candidates will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with Zambia’s national development goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and analyze geospatial data using GIS and remote sensing tools.
  • Develop maps, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists and urban planners on sustainability projects.
  • Conduct field surveys to validate data accuracy and improve model precision.
  • Provide technical support for geospatial software implementation and training.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, and remote sensing platforms (e.g., Sentinel, Landsat).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in spatial data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of Zambia’s environmental regulations and land-use policies.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not required.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in geospatial data analysis or related roles.
  • Previous project experience in Africa or emerging markets is advantageous.

Salary

12,000 – 18,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
