Job Overview: We are seeking a Digital Forestry and Conservation Manager to join our team in Kasama, Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our digital forestry and conservation efforts, including developing and implementing digital solutions to monitor and manage forest ecosystems. This role will also involve collaborating with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable forest management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement digital solutions to monitor and manage forest ecosystems
- Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable forest management practices
- Lead digital forestry and conservation efforts, including data analysis and reporting
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities
- Provide technical guidance and support to conservation teams
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in digital forestry and conservation, including experience with data analysis and reporting
- Strong knowledge of digital technologies, including GIS, remote sensing, and data analytics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
