Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating and monitoring the financial aspects of renewable energy projects across Zambia. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed financial models for solar, wind and hybrid projects, incorporating capital expenditures, operating costs, revenue streams and financing structures.
• Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess project viability under varying market, policy and currency conditions.
• Prepare investment memoranda, term sheets and presentations for internal stakeholders and external financiers.
• Coordinate due‑diligence activities, including reviewing legal documents, permits, and tax incentives.
• Monitor project cash flows, debt service coverage ratios and covenant compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the legal, engineering and procurement teams to align financial assumptions with technical specifications.
• Support the negotiation of power purchase agreements (PPAs), loan agreements and equity contracts.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial health and sustainability metrics.
• Stay updated on Zambia’s renewable energy policies, tax regimes and financing incentives to advise senior management.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or specialized software (e.g., @RISK, PVSyst).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of project finance structures, debt‑equity ratios, and risk mitigation techniques.
• Familiarity with Zambian regulatory environment for renewable energy projects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and commitment to ethical standards.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA or PMP are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Candidates should have 3‑5 years of experience in project finance, investment analysis, or financial advisory, preferably within the renewable energy sector or infrastructure projects. Experience with international financing institutions or development banks is a plus.
