Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating and monitoring the financial aspects of Enel Green Power’s renewable projects in Zambia. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will collaborate with project development, engineering, legal and external stakeholders to ensure that each project is financially viable, compliant with regulatory standards and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed financial models for solar, wind and hydro projects, incorporating capital expenditures, operating costs, revenue streams and financing structures.
• Conduct feasibility studies, sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to assess project profitability and risk.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports, cash flow forecasts and investment memoranda for internal decision‑makers and external investors.
• Coordinate with lenders, equity partners, government agencies and NGOs to secure project financing and ensure compliance with loan covenants.
• Monitor project financial performance against budgets, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), EPC contracts and other key project documents from a financial perspective.
• Collaborate with the legal and regulatory teams to ensure adherence to Zambian energy regulations and international financing standards.
• Assist in the preparation of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reports to meet investor and stakeholder expectations.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic planning and portfolio optimization.
• Stay updated on market trends, policy changes and financing mechanisms relevant to renewable energy in Zambia and the broader Southern African region.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, financial modeling and data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of project finance structures, debt and equity financing, and renewable energy market dynamics.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with Zambian energy regulations, tax incentives and international financing standards (e.g., IFC, World Bank).
• Proficiency in financial software such as SAP, Oracle or specialized project finance platforms is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline is required. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Finance, Renewable Energy Management or an MBA will be given preference, reflecting the complex nature of project financing in the renewable sector.

Experience
