Job Overview
The Agricultural Extension Officer will serve as the primary liaison between Cargill Zambia and farming communities in Petauke and surrounding districts. This role involves delivering technical assistance, conducting field demonstrations, and facilitating access to inputs and market information. The officer will work closely with agronomists, supply chain specialists, and local cooperatives to implement best‑practice farming techniques that increase productivity and profitability. Key Responsibilities

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Zambian crop production systems, especially maize, sorghum, and legumes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective farmer engagement.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and present technical information in a clear, practical manner.
- Proficiency in data collection tools, Microsoft Office, and basic GIS mapping.
- Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on delivering measurable results.
- Fluency in English and at least one local language (e.g., Bemba, Nyanja, or Chewa).
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Economics, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in extension services or sustainable agriculture are advantageous.
Experience
