Job Purpose
The Academic Head Teacher will provide strategic academic leadership, ensuring high teaching standards, effective curriculum delivery, and continuous improvement in student performance. The role works closely with school leadership to build a strong, performance-driven academic culture.
Key Duties and Responsibilities (Job Description)
1. Curriculum Leadership & Delivery
- Lead implementation of the Zambian–Cambridge hybrid curriculum.
- Ensure alignment of lesson planning with curriculum standards.
- Monitor academic delivery across all grade levels.
2. Teaching Quality & Staff Supervision
- Conduct regular lesson observations and teacher evaluations.
- Ensure high-quality teaching standards across departments.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to teaching staff.
3. Teacher Development & Performance Management
- Mentor teachers through structured professional development.
- Implement teacher performance management systems.
- Identify training needs and organize capacity-building programs.
4. Student Performance & Academic Monitoring
- Track and evaluate student academic progress.
- Oversee assessment systems and reporting processes.
- Develop interventions for underperforming learners.

5. Examinations & Compliance
- Oversee internal and external examinations.

Required Qualifications and Education
Candidates should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of teaching experience
- At least 2–3 years in academic leadership or senior teaching role
- Experience in Cambridge, IB, or international curriculum schools is an advantage
