Job Overview

This role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting biodiversity data to support conservation decision-making. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute biodiversity monitoring protocols using GIS and remote sensing tools
  • Analyze ecological data to assess species population trends and habitat health
  • Produce technical reports and visualizations for conservation stakeholders
  • Coordinate with local communities to integrate traditional knowledge into monitoring frameworks
  • Develop dashboards for real-time biodiversity data tracking
  • Support grant reporting requirements for conservation funders

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar spatial analysis software
  • Experience with R or Python for statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of IUCN Red List assessment criteria
  • Strong data visualization skills (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Fluency in Chilonga or local languages preferred
  • Wildlife tracking and field survey techniques

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or Conservation Biology
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not required

Experience

  • 3-5 years in ecological data analysis or conservation research
  • Fieldwork experience in African savannah ecosystems

Salary
