Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geological Data Analyst to join our team in Chingola, Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting geological data to support our research and advisory work.
The role will involve working with a range of data types, including seismic, magnetic and gravity data, to identify and characterize geological structures and processes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining databases and software tools to support our data analysis and interpretation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geophysics and experience of working with geological data. They will also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret geological data to support research and advisory work
- Develop and maintain databases and software tools to support data analysis and interpretation
- Work with a range of data types, including seismic, magnetic and gravity data
- Identify and characterize geological structures and processes
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners
Required Skills
- Strong background in geophysics
- Experience of working with geological data
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education
The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Geophysics or a related field. They will also have a strong background in mathematics and statistics, as well as experience of working with programming languages such as Python and R.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in geophysics and experience of working with geological data. They will also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills.
Salary
The salary for this role is 40000-60000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
