Job Purpose
The Head of Housekeeping will be responsible for planning, managing, and supervising all housekeeping functions across the lodge. The role focuses on maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, guest comfort, hygiene, and presentation in guest villas, front-of-house areas, and staff spaces while ensuring efficient stock management and operational excellence.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Housekeeping Operations Management
- Supervise and coordinate all housekeeping operations across the lodge.
- Stay updated on daily guest arrivals, departures, and villa occupancy movements.
- Ensure villas are cleaned according to lodge standards, policies, and operational checklists.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of guest areas, villas, and front-of-house spaces.
Team Leadership & Staff Supervision
- Prepare and manage weekly duty rosters for the housekeeping department.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior housekeepers to maintain high service standards.
- Ensure housekeeping staff maintain excellent hygiene, neat grooming, and professional appearance.
- Promote teamwork and consistent service delivery among housekeeping personnel.

Laundry & Inventory Management
- Ensure guests’ laundry services are completed and returned according to lodge service timelines.
- Manage daily issuance of housekeeping and laundry stock supplies.
- Conduct weekly inventory and stock-taking activities.
- Report damages, missing items, and breakages promptly.
Maintenance & Guest Service Standards
- Ensure housekeeping whiteboards are regularly updated with guest movement information.
- Report maintenance issues immediately to the maintenance department and follow up on repairs.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning products, deck treatments, polishing materials, and housekeeping equipment.
- Maintain professional conduct and guest privacy when servicing villas.
Education & Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field
- Additional hospitality or customer service certifications will be an added advantage
Experience Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should have:
- At least 6 years of relevant housekeeping or hospitality experience
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping supervision, luxury lodge operations, or hospitality management
- Experience training and supervising housekeeping teams
