Job Overview
This role combines technical innovation with cultural stewardship to design interactive digital experiences that showcase Zambia’s heritage. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop immersive digital experiences (VR/AR) for heritage sites in Shang’ombo and surrounding regions
- Collaborate with local communities to document oral histories and traditional practices
- Integrate geospatial data with 3D modeling to create interactive educational tools
- Partner with tourism boards to deploy digital heritage experiences in visitor centers
- Conduct workshops to train local stakeholders in digital preservation techniques
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar immersive design software
- Experience with photogrammetry and 3D scanning technologies
- Strong understanding of Zambian cultural heritage and preservation ethics
- Excellent project management and cross-cultural communication skills
- Knowledge of UNESCO heritage conservation principles
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Cultural Heritage, or related field
- Advanced certification in immersive technologies preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years in digital heritage projects or interactive media development
- Proven track record in community-based cultural documentation
Salary
12,000 – 15,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and project impact.
