Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret international maritime trade regulations, sanctions, and embargoes affecting shipments to and from Zambia.
• Conduct thorough customs documentation reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with Zambian Revenue Authority requirements.
• Collaborate with freight forwarders and shipping lines to resolve compliance issues and prevent shipment delays.
• Develop and maintain internal compliance policies, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
• Perform risk assessments on high‑value or high‑risk cargo, providing recommendations to senior management.
• Maintain detailed records of compliance activities and generate regular reports for internal audit and external regulatory bodies.
• Support the implementation of trade compliance software tools and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customs inquiries and investigations conducted by Zambian authorities.

Required Skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Incoterms, customs valuation, and maritime shipping documentation.
• Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams and external regulators.
• Proficiency in compliance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage given Bolloré’s global footprint.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or International Trade Compliance (ITC) are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of three to five years of hands‑on experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, or maritime logistics. Prior experience within the Zambian regulatory environment or with multinational logistics firms will be viewed favorably.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 120,000 to SSP 180,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, the role includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a pension scheme.
