Job Overview
The Retail Category Analyst will play a pivotal role in shaping product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional activities for the Mongu store and surrounding outlets. Reporting to the Category Manager, you will analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to recommend optimal product mixes that drive revenue and margin growth. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze weekly and monthly sales performance to identify growth opportunities and underperforming SKUs.
- Develop and maintain category plans that align with corporate objectives and local market demand.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional support.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to adjust assortment and pricing strategies.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Work with store teams to ensure effective planogram implementation and inventory accuracy.
- Support the execution of seasonal campaigns, markdowns, and special events to maximize sales impact.

- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools.

Education

Experience
Applicants should possess 3 to 5 years of experience in retail analytics, category management, or a similar role within a fast‑moving consumer goods environment. Experience in the Zambian retail market or Southern Africa is advantageous.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 120,000 to SSP 180,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses may be awarded annually.
