Job Overview

Arup Zambia seeks a Smart Mobility Solutions Engineer to lead the design and implementation of intelligent transportation systems in Mansa. This role focuses on optimizing urban mobility through data-driven solutions, including smart traffic management, public transit integration, and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure. The position aligns with Zambia’s national goals for sustainable urbanization and climate resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and model smart mobility systems using GIS and urban simulation tools.
  • Collaborate with local governments, NGOs, and communities to identify mobility challenges.
  • Develop cost-effective solutions for traffic congestion, public transit accessibility, and road safety.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for electric vehicle infrastructure and bike-sharing programs.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in smart city technologies and transportation engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, PTV Visum).
  • Knowledge of Zambian urban planning regulations and environmental compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Python, Tableau).

Education
