Key Job Responsibilities (JD)
As a Software Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Control System Support & Troubleshooting
- Act as the first responder for control room operational problems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control system failures, software errors, and equipment malfunctions.
- Perform troubleshooting involving automation systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and digital control systems.
Automation & Software Development
- Assist in installing new and retrofit control systems using SIEMENS PLC controllers and I/O systems.
- Develop, configure, and maintain DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA program code.
- Execute SCADA system development and software modifications to align with plant operational requirements.
- Configure software and hardware systems according to field modifications.
Industrial Process Optimization
- Analyze plant control systems and identify opportunities for process automation improvement.
- Support continuous system optimization and increased operational efficiency.
- Understand and follow the control philosophy of the process plant.
System Testing & Maintenance
- Conduct performance testing for operating systems, electronic communication systems, and instrumentation equipment.
- Inspect automation systems to detect faults and reduce downtime risks.
- Maintain compliance with site DCS standards and industrial best practices (ISA).
Team Support & Technical Guidance
- Provide technical guidance and support to trainees and junior technical staff.
- Collaborate with engineering teams during system upgrades and commissioning projects.
- Perform standby duties and additional assignments delegated by management.
