This role focuses on designing and managing water resource projects in Solwezi, Zambia, to address regional water scarcity and pollution challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement water conservation strategies for industrial and municipal clients.
  • Conduct hydrological assessments to evaluate water availability and quality in Solwezi’s ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with local authorities to design sustainable water distribution and recycling systems.
  • Monitor and report on the environmental impact of water usage in mining and agricultural sectors.
  • Provide technical support for the installation of water treatment infrastructure, including desalination and filtration units.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in GIS mapping and water resource modeling software (e.g., ArcGIS, HEC-RAS).
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting water quality data and environmental regulations.
  • Project management experience in multi-stakeholder environments.

  • Knowledge of Zambian environmental policies and international sustainability standards (e.g., ISO 14001).

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in water resource management, preferably in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Proven track record in designing and executing water sustainability projects.

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and project impact.
