Job Overview
This role is part of Arup’s initiative to enhance urban resilience in Zambia’s growing cities. The Urban Resilience and Sustainability Officer will lead projects that integrate climate adaptation strategies with sustainable development goals. The position is based in Mansa, a key hub for regional infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement urban resilience frameworks for municipal planning
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with local governments to develop climate adaptation policies
- Lead community engagement initiatives for sustainable urban development
- Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies for urban planning proposals
Required Skills
- Expertise in GIS mapping and urban modeling software
- Strong analytical skills for climate risk assessment
- Project management experience in multi-stakeholder environments

Education
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees in Sustainable Development or Climate Policy are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in urban planning, environmental consulting, or infrastructure development. Prior work on climate resilience projects in African contexts is preferred.
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,500,000 ZMW per annum, commensurate with experience.
