Job Overview
This position is ideal for a forward-thinking professional passionate about integrating sustainable practices into retail operations. The Sustainable Retail Operations Manager will oversee store performance, implement eco-friendly initiatives, and ensure alignment with The Body Shop’s global sustainability goals. The role requires strategic leadership to balance profitability with ethical responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day retail operations, including inventory, sales, and customer service.
- Develop and execute sustainability strategies, such as reducing plastic waste and promoting ethical sourcing.
- Train staff on sustainable practices and customer engagement techniques.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with environmental and social standards.
- Monitor and report on operational efficiency and sustainability KPIs.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership in retail or operations management.
- Strong understanding of sustainable business practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in retail software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001) are a plus.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in retail operations, preferably within the beauty or ethical consumer goods sector. Demonstrated success in implementing sustainability initiatives is required.
Salary
1,200,000 – 1,800,000 ZMW annually, commensurate with experience.
