Job Overview

The Digital Payments Risk Analyst will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the bank’s digital payment channels, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and mitigating operational and fraud risks. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of all digital payment products, including mobile wallets, online transfers, and card‑based services.
  • Monitor real‑time transaction data to identify suspicious activities, fraud patterns, and operational anomalies.
  • Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with local regulations and international standards.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance and Legal teams to ensure adherence to the Bank of Zambia’s guidelines and anti‑money‑laundering (AML) requirements.
  • Prepare detailed risk reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting key risk indicators and recommended actions.
  • Lead incident response initiatives, coordinating with IT security, fraud investigations, and customer service to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions for staff on digital payment risk awareness and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging fintech trends, cyber‑threats, and regulatory changes affecting digital payments in Zambia and the broader region.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • In‑depth knowledge of digital payment systems, fraud detection tools, and risk management frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and statistical analysis software.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey risk findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Risk Analyst (CRA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in risk analysis, fraud prevention, or compliance within the banking or financial services sector. Prior exposure to digital payments, fintech solutions, or cyber‑risk management will be considered a strong advantage.
