Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Forestry and Conservation Manager to join our team in Kasempa, Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our digital forestry and conservation efforts in the region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to protect and restore natural habitats.

The Digital Forestry and Conservation Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our conservation efforts, including the use of remote sensing technologies, geographic information systems (GIS), and other digital tools.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation biology, or a related field, and will have experience working in a similar role in a developing country context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement digital solutions to support conservation efforts, including the use of remote sensing technologies, GIS, and other digital tools.
  • Work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to protect and restore natural habitats.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local partners and stakeholders to support conservation efforts.
  • Conduct fieldwork and data collection to support conservation efforts.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to track the effectiveness of conservation efforts.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to local partners and stakeholders to enhance their capacity to implement conservation efforts.

    • Required Skills
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience working in a similar role in a developing country context.
  • Strong background in remote sensing technologies, GIS, and other digital tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English and local languages.

    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field.
