Job Overview
The Agricultural Supply Chain Manager will lead end‑to‑end supply chain operations for Cargill’s grain and oilseed portfolio in the Southern Province, ensuring efficient procurement, storage, transportation, and distribution of agricultural commodities. This role is pivotal in optimizing logistics, reducing waste, and enhancing profitability while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with corporate goals and local market dynamics.
- Manage relationships with farmer cooperatives, brokers, and transport providers to secure reliable sourcing and timely deliveries.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels, accurate forecasting, and minimal post‑harvest losses.
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to maintain compliance with food safety regulations and Cargill’s internal standards.
- Analyze supply chain performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and execute process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies throughout all supply chain activities.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management, highlighting cost savings, risk mitigation, and operational achievements.

Education

Experience
A minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or agribusiness operations is required. Prior experience within a multinational agribusiness environment and exposure to Zambia’s agricultural landscape will be highly valued.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to 400,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based incentives.
