Job Overview
The Chief Renewable Energy Procurement Officer will lead the development and execution of Eni Zambia’s renewable energy procurement strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for solar, wind, and emerging renewable technologies. This senior position requires a deep understanding of the Zambian energy market, regulatory environment, and international best practices. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, government agencies, and external partners to secure competitive pricing, ensure compliance, and drive innovation in the procurement process. The role is pivotal in supporting Eni Zambia’s ambition to increase its renewable energy portfolio and achieve carbon neutrality by 2035.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive renewable energy procurement strategy aligned with corporate sustainability targets.
- Identify and evaluate potential renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, hydro, and bioenergy, across Zambia and the Southern African region.
- Lead negotiations with power producers, independent power producers (IPPs), and technology vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Manage the end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle, from request for proposals (RFP) to contract award and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with Zambian energy regulations, environmental standards, and international procurement best practices.
- Collaborate with the Legal, Finance, and Engineering teams to assess risk, conduct due diligence, and structure financing arrangements.
- Monitor market trends, policy changes, and technological advancements to inform strategic decisions.
- Report procurement performance, cost savings, and sustainability metrics to senior leadership.
- Mentor and lead a high‑performing procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Represent Eni Zambia at industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to promote the company’s renewable energy initiatives.

Experience
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in energy procurement, preferably within renewable energy projects. Experience working with international energy firms and familiarity with Zambian energy policies are essential.
Salary
