Job Overview

The Construction Project Controls Manager will lead the planning, monitoring, and reporting functions for large‑scale construction projects undertaken by Lafarge Zambia. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will collaborate closely with project engineers, site supervisors, finance teams, and external consultants to develop robust control systems, risk mitigation strategies, and performance dashboards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, aligning with contractual milestones.
• Implement cost control mechanisms, track expenditures, and produce variance analyses to support financial decision‑making.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports, highlighting schedule adherence, cost performance, and risk exposure.
• Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Facilitate regular project review meetings, presenting data‑driven insights to senior management and stakeholders.
• Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation plans, and monitor their effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and Lafarge’s internal policies.
• Mentor junior project control staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost management tools.
• Strong analytical abilities with a focus on data integrity and interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Zambian construction codes, procurement regulations, and industry best practices.
• Leadership qualities with experience in guiding cross‑functional teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized Project Controls qualification are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five to eight years of progressive experience in project controls within the construction or infrastructure sector. Experience on large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary projects, preferably in the mining or industrial construction arena, will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
