Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geophysics Research Scientist to join our team in Mongu, Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in geophysics, with a focus on applied geophysics and its applications in the oil and gas industry.

The Geophysics Research Scientist will work closely with our team of experts to design and implement research projects, collect and analyze data, and publish research findings in leading scientific journals.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in geophysics, with a Ph.D. in the field and at least 8 years of experience in research and development. They will be highly skilled in data analysis and interpretation, and have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement research projects in geophysics, with a focus on applied geophysics and its applications in the oil and gas industry.

Collect and analyze data, using a range of techniques including seismic surveys, gravity surveys, and magnetic surveys.

Publish research findings in leading scientific journals, and present research at conferences and workshops.

Work closely with our team of experts to develop and implement research projects, and to provide technical support and guidance to colleagues.

Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and stakeholders, to ensure that our research is relevant and applicable to real-world problems.

Required Skills

Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related field.

At least 8 years of experience in research and development, with a strong background in geophysics.

Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills, with experience in seismic surveys, gravity surveys, and magnetic surveys.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement research projects and to troubleshoot technical problems.

Education
