Job Overview

The Head of Digital Banking Innovation will lead the design, development, and execution of Absa’s digital banking strategy in Zambia. Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Officer, this role will shape the future of banking experiences for millions of Zambians, driving adoption of mobile wallets, online account management, and AI‑powered financial services. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital banking roadmap that aligns with Absa’s corporate objectives and Zambia’s regulatory framework.

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, from concept and design through testing, deployment, and post‑launch optimization.
  • Collaborate with fintech partners, startups, and technology vendors to integrate cutting‑edge solutions such as blockchain, AI, and biometric authentication.
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures and compliance with the Bank of Zambia’s digital banking guidelines.
  • Drive data‑driven decision making by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics dashboards.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation, agile methodologies, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent Absa at industry conferences, webinars, and thought‑leadership forums to enhance brand visibility.

Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in digital banking, fintech, or related financial services, with at least five years in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated success in managing large‑scale digital transformation projects within the African banking sector is highly preferred.

Salary
