Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Mwinilunga. This role is critical to ensuring the operational readiness and longevity of our massive mining fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnostic testing, repair, and preventative maintenance of various heavy-duty earthmoving and mining machines. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex diagnostic tests on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems of heavy mining equipment.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance schedules to ensure machine reliability and safety.
- Execute emergency repairs on-site to minimize operational downtime.
- Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, inspections, and parts replacements.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement equipment upgrades and efficiency improvements.
- Adhere strictly to all site-specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.

- Advanced proficiency in diagnosing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics and heavy-duty transmissions.

Education
A minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related technical field is required. Certification in specialized diesel engine repair is highly advantageous.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of hands-on experience working with large-scale mining equipment, such as excavators, haul trucks, and bulldozers. Previous experience in a remote mining site is preferred.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 75,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical certifications.
