Job Overview

The Senior Petroleum Reservoir Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing the production and recovery of hydrocarbon resources within our regional assets. This position involves advanced numerical modeling, reservoir simulation, and the development of long-term production strategies to maximize asset value. You will work closely with drilling, production, and geosciences teams to ensure that all subsurface activities are aligned with our strategic goals. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of fluid flow in porous media and the ability to translate complex data into actionable engineering plans. As we transition toward integrated energy solutions, this role will also explore carbon sequestration and enhanced recovery techniques to support our sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex reservoir simulations to predict future production profiles and optimize well placement.
  • Develop comprehensive reservoir management plans to maximize recovery factors and extend field life.
  • Conduct uncertainty analysis and risk assessment for various development scenarios.
  • Collaborate with geologists and geophysicists to integrate seismic and well data into reservoir models.
  • Monitor real-time production data to identify deviations from predicted performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior reservoir engineers within the team.
  • Evaluate the economic viability of new drilling locations and production enhancement projects.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel).
  • Deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid properties, and rock mechanics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex geological and production datasets.

Education

A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level position.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least 8 years of direct experience in reservoir engineering within the upstream oil and gas sector. Proven track record in managing complex reservoir models and delivering successful field development plans is essential. Experience in offshore or unconventional reservoirs is a significant advantage.
