The Solar Photovoltaic Systems Installer will play a critical role in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems across the Northern Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Install solar photovoltaic modules, mounting structures, inverters, and balance‑of‑system components according to engineering drawings.
  • Perform site surveys, verify measurements, and ensure proper alignment and grounding of panels.
  • Connect electrical wiring, conduit, and protective devices while adhering to Zambian electrical codes.
  • Conduct system commissioning, perform performance testing, and troubleshoot any issues to achieve optimal output.
  • Maintain accurate installation logs, as‑built documentation, and safety checklists.
  • Collaborate with the project team to meet project timelines and quality standards.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards, and enforce personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Provide on‑site training to junior technicians and assist in knowledge transfer.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, layout drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Hands‑on experience with PV module mounting, wiring, and inverter integration.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to troubleshoot electrical faults.
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in varied weather conditions.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, engineers, and team members.

Education

A Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, or a related technical field is required. Additional certifications such as a Solar PV Installation Certificate (e.g., NABCEP) are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 2‑4 years of practical experience installing solar photovoltaic systems, preferably on commercial or utility‑scale projects. Experience with off‑grid or hybrid solar solutions is an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 120,000 to SSP 180,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. Salary is paid monthly and includes statutory contributions.
