Job Overview

This role is part of UNESCO’s mission to expand access to high-quality STEM education in Zambia. The STEM Education Coordinator will design, implement, and monitor educational programs in Chingola, collaborating with schools, local governments, and international partners. The position emphasizes hands-on learning, teacher training, and community engagement to build a pipeline of skilled STEM professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver STEM curriculum tailored to Zambian educational standards
  • Coordinate teacher training workshops and classroom resources
  • Partner with schools and NGOs to establish STEM labs and innovation hubs
  • Monitor program impact through data collection and reporting
  • Secure funding through grants and partnerships for educational initiatives

Required Skills

  • Expertise in STEM curriculum development
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and local languages (e.g., Bemba)
  • Experience with educational technology tools
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Science, or STEM-related field. Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience

3-5 years in educational program coordination, preferably in STEM or international development contexts.

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
