Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Monitoring Specialist to join our team in Mongu, Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing environmental monitoring programs to ensure that our projects are environmentally sustainable and do not harm the local ecosystem.

The Environmental Monitoring Specialist will work closely with our project teams, government agencies, and local communities to develop and implement environmental monitoring plans, collect and analyze data, and provide recommendations for improving environmental performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, a proven track record of designing and implementing environmental monitoring programs, and excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement environmental monitoring programs to ensure that our projects are environmentally sustainable and do not harm the local ecosystem.
  • Work closely with project teams, government agencies, and local communities to develop and implement environmental monitoring plans.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess environmental performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development of environmental policies and guidelines for our projects.

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental monitoring and management.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing environmental monitoring programs.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Fluency in English and local languages.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field from a recognized university.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in environmental monitoring and management, with a proven track record of designing and implementing environmental monitoring programs.

Salary

60,000 – 90,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
