Job Overview
The Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments for various projects and activities in Zambia. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and experience in conducting environmental impact assessments.
The role will involve working closely with project teams, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure that environmental impact assessments are conducted in accordance with international best practices and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for various projects and activities in Zambia
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for projects and activities
- Collaborate with project teams, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure that environmental impact assessments are conducted in accordance with international best practices and local regulations
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on environmental impact assessment and management
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in conducting environmental impact assessments
- Strong knowledge of environmental impact assessment methodologies and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field may be considered for candidates with significant experience in conducting environmental impact assessments.
Experience
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in conducting environmental impact assessments. Experience in working with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities is highly desirable.
Salary
The salary for this position is 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
