Job Overview

The Construction Project Controls Manager will lead the planning, monitoring, and reporting functions for multimillion‑dollar construction projects in Luanshya and surrounding regions. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, finance teams, and external stakeholders to develop robust control systems, risk mitigation strategies, and performance dashboards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Implement cost control mechanisms, track expenditures, and forecast financial performance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for senior management and clients.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks through quantitative analysis.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Lead change order management, ensuring proper documentation and impact analysis.
  • Facilitate regular project control meetings and stakeholder workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, Skanska standards, and international best practices.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven leadership in multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Knowledge of Zambian construction codes and procurement processes.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a Certified Cost Engineer designation are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in construction project controls, with at least three (3) years in a senior or lead role on large infrastructure projects. Experience within the Zambian market or similar emerging economies is advantageous.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
