Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Digital Forestry and Conservation Manager to join our team in Pemba, Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our digital forestry and conservation efforts in the region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective conservation strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation biology, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in digital forestry and conservation. They will be highly skilled in data analysis, spatial modeling, and GIS mapping, and have excellent communication and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of digital forestry and conservation strategies in Pemba, Zambia
- Work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective conservation plans
- Conduct data analysis and spatial modeling to inform conservation decisions
- Develop and maintain GIS maps and databases to track conservation progress
- Provide training and capacity-building support to local communities and conservation staff
Required Skills
- Strong background in environmental science, conservation biology, or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in digital forestry and conservation
- Highly skilled in data analysis, spatial modeling, and GIS mapping
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
