Job Purpose
The Finance Manager will oversee financial management activities across Anzana Electric Zambia’s energy portfolio, including an operational hydropower plant, expansion initiatives, and multiple renewable energy projects under development.
This role combines strategic finance leadership with a hands-on operational approach, supporting accounting functions, financial planning, reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, treasury management, and team development.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, country leadership, and the Group Finance Manager in Mauritius to strengthen financial governance and ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities / Job Description (JD)
The selected candidate will perform the following duties:
Governance, Compliance & Internal Controls
- Develop and maintain finance procedures manuals and internal control systems.
- Test and improve financial controls for efficiency and compliance.
- Document finance policies to ensure audit readiness and investor reporting compliance.
- Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Train Zambia-based staff on internal procedures and financial controls.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare:
- Monthly management accounts
- Annual financial statements
- Financial dashboards and reports
- Ensure accounting practices comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Oversee bookkeeping and financial data entry across multiple Zambian entities.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and accounting records.
Daily Financial Operations
- Record supplier and customer invoices.
- Post journal entries for:
- Payroll
- Accruals
- Prepayments
- Conduct weekly cash reconciliations.
- Process intercompany reconciliations and transactions.
- Review supplier invoices for approvals, tax compliance, and accuracy.
- Process and review employee expense claims.
- Maintain proper financial filing systems and supporting documents.
Treasury Management & Budgeting
- Develop annual and monthly budgets.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Manage online payment systems and treasury operations.
- Monitor financial performance and expenditure control.
Tax Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Ensure timely filing of:
- Monthly taxes
- Statutory contributions
- Annual returns
- Prepare tax declarations and regulatory paperwork.
- Support tax exemption and tax incentive processes.
- Maintain communication with regulatory authorities and government administrations.
- Track financial and power generation KPIs for regulator (ERB) reporting.
Audit & Financial Governance
- Lead external audit processes and provide required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Monitor risk management and internal audit readiness.
