We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrometallurgical Process Chemist to join our technical team in Kitwe. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize the chemical parameters of the solvent extraction (SX) and electrowinning (EW) circuits.
  • Conduct detailed laboratory analysis of ore samples and process liquors to ensure compliance with metallurgical targets.
  • Develop and implement new chemical reagent protocols to improve metal recovery rates.
  • Collaborate with plant operators to troubleshoot process deviations and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation of all chemical assays and process performance metrics.
  • Ensure all chemical handling and waste disposal processes adhere to strict environmental regulations.

  • Advanced proficiency in hydrometallurgical process modeling and chemical analysis.

Education

Experience

Candidates must possess between 5 to 7 years of direct experience in hydrometallurgical operations, preferably within a large-scale copper or nickel mining operation. Proven track record in process optimization and chemical reagent management is essential for success in this role.

Salary

The offered salary range for this position is 45,000 to 65,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and technical expertise.
