Job Overview

The Network Security Architect will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of secure network architectures for Huawei’s Zambian projects and regional initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end secure network architectures for 4G/5G, data center, and cloud environments.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices aligned with global frameworks.
• Conduct comprehensive threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
• Collaborate with product teams to integrate security features into Huawei’s hardware and software solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network engineers and security analysts.

• Prepare detailed security documentation, architecture diagrams, and compliance reports for clients and regulators.

Required Skills

• Deep expertise in network security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, and zero‑trust architectures.
• Proficiency with security tools such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Check Point, and open‑source solutions.
• Strong knowledge of cryptographic standards, PKI, and secure key management.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Huawei Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable business recommendations.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, or GICSP are highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage.

Experience

Minimum of eight years of hands‑on experience in network security architecture, preferably within the telecommunications industry. Proven track record of designing secure large‑scale networks, leading security projects, and delivering measurable risk reduction outcomes.
