Job Overview

The Risk Advisory Manager will lead a team of consultants in delivering comprehensive risk assessments, internal control reviews and governance frameworks for clients across sectors such as mining, energy, finance, and manufacturing. This role involves collaborating with senior partners to design risk‑based strategies, conducting in‑depth analyses, and presenting actionable recommendations that align with client objectives and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead risk assessment engagements, including identification, evaluation, and mitigation of financial, operational, and strategic risks.
  • Develop and implement internal control frameworks and governance structures tailored to client industries.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring high‑quality outputs.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders and KPMG partners.
  • Mentor junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and knowledge‑sharing environment.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes in Zambia and globally, integrating updates into advisory services.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client relationship management.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior executives.
  • Proficiency in risk management frameworks such as COSO, ISO 31000, and Basel III.
  • Project management expertise, including the use of tools like MS Project or similar.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality.

Education

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or CRMA are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least five to seven years of relevant experience in risk advisory, internal audit, or management consulting, preferably within a Big Four or comparable professional services environment. Experience serving clients in sectors like mining, energy, banking, or manufacturing will be viewed favorably.

Salary

The remuneration package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a pension scheme.
