Job Overview
The Senior Logistics Coordinator will play a critical role in managing our complex transportation networks and ensuring the seamless flow of goods through the Ndola hub. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee end-to-end shipment processes from origin to final destination.
- Negotiate freight rates with local and international carriers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor shipment tracking and provide real-time updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with Zambian customs regulations and international maritime laws.
- Resolve complex logistical issues, including delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies.
- Optimize route planning and load consolidation to maximize efficiency.
- Prepare detailed logistics reports and performance metrics for senior management.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Logistics Management Systems (LMS) and ERP software.
- Deep understanding of Incoterms, Bill of Lading, and customs documentation.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational capability.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certifications such as CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must demonstrate at least five years of progressive experience in a logistics or freight forwarding role. Proven experience in managing multimodal transport (road and rail) within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region is a significant advantage. You should have a track record of managing large-scale shipments and navigating complex regulatory frameworks.
