Job Overview
The Supply Chain Sustainability Analyst will support Unilever Zambia’s mission to integrate sustainable practices across the end‑to‑end supply chain. Reporting to the Supply Chain Sustainability Manager, the analyst will evaluate environmental and social performance metrics, develop improvement initiatives, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and carbon neutrality. This position plays a pivotal role in aligning Unilever’s supply chain strategies with global sustainability targets, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and delivering measurable impact. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and report on sustainability data across procurement, logistics, and manufacturing processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and waste throughout the supply chain.
- Develop and implement supplier sustainability assessment tools and scorecards.
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to embed sustainability criteria into sourcing decisions.
- Support the creation of sustainability dashboards for senior leadership and external reporting.
- Facilitate training sessions for suppliers and internal staff on best practices in sustainable sourcing.
- Monitor compliance with Zambian environmental regulations and Unilever’s internal policies.
- Prepare case studies and success stories for internal communications and external stakeholder engagement.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as GRI, CDP, and the UN SDGs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams.
- Project management experience with a focus on sustainability initiatives.
- Familiarity with supply chain processes in the FMCG sector is an advantage.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CSCP, LEED Green Associate, or a sustainability credential are desirable.
Experience
Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in supply chain analytics, sustainability reporting, or related roles within a manufacturing or consumer goods environment. Experience working with multinational corporations and exposure to African markets will be considered an asset.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
