We are seeking a Digital Forestry and Conservation Manager to join our team in Petauke, Zambia. This role will be responsible for leading our digital forestry initiatives, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable forest management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead digital forestry initiatives, including the development and implementation of digital tools and platforms to support sustainable forest management practices.
  • Work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote sustainable forest management practices and engage them in conservation efforts.
  • Develop and implement conservation plans, including habitat restoration, species conservation, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with other Conservancy staff to develop and implement conservation programs, including research, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Develop and manage budgets, including securing funding from donors and partners.

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in conservation, forestry, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading digital forestry initiatives and developing digital tools and platforms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field.
