Job Overview

The Procurement Innovation Manager will lead the transformation of Unilever Zambia’s sourcing strategies, leveraging digital tools, data analytics, and sustainable procurement practices to drive cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and supplier diversity. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement digital procurement platforms, e‑procurement systems, and AI‑driven spend analytics to optimize sourcing processes.
  • Develop and execute sustainable sourcing policies that prioritize local suppliers, ethical standards, and environmental stewardship.
  • Lead supplier relationship management, negotiate strategic contracts, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with product innovation, cost targets, and market demands.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to ensure proactive risk management.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards for senior leadership, highlighting savings, sustainability metrics, and performance indicators.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel.
  • Experience in e‑procurement solutions such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of sustainable procurement principles and local Zambian supplier ecosystems.
  • Project management expertise, preferably with PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence change in a fast‑paced environment.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (CIPS, CPM) are considered an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain innovation, preferably within the consumer goods sector. Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation projects and delivering measurable cost savings is essential.

Salary
