Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Research Manager to oversee our clinical trials and observational studies in Lusaka. This critical role involves managing day-to-day clinical trial operations, ensuring compliance with international Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, and coordinating multi-disciplinary research teams. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, implementation, and close-out of clinical trials and research studies in accordance with protocol requirements.
• Manage and mentor clinical research coordinators, nurses, and data management staff to ensure high-quality data collection and protocol adherence.
• Coordinate with institutional review boards (IRBs) and regulatory authorities to secure and maintain necessary approvals.
• Monitor study progress, patient recruitment rates, and data quality, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure all clinical trial activities comply with local regulations, international ethical standards, and GCP guidelines.
• Collaborate with principal investigators and external sponsors to prepare progress reports, scientific publications, and presentations.

Required Skills

• In-depth knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
• Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.

• Proficiency in clinical data management systems and statistical analysis software.

Education

Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Research, or a closely related scientific discipline from a recognized institution. A medical degree (MBChB) or a PhD in a relevant field will be highly advantageous.

Experience

A minimum of five years of progressive experience in managing clinical trials or health research projects is required. Proven experience in leading research teams and interacting with regulatory bodies in Zambia or internationally is essential.
