Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Digital Forestry and Conservation Manager to join our team in Mongu, Zambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our digital forestry initiatives, including the development and implementation of digital tools and platforms to support forest conservation and management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation, and digital technology, as well as excellent leadership and project management skills. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a diverse team of stakeholders, including local communities, governments, and other conservation organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of digital forestry initiatives, including the design and deployment of digital tools and platforms to support forest conservation and management.
- Work closely with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement conservation projects that benefit both people and the environment.
- Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and project plans to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of stakeholders, including local communities, governments, and other conservation organizations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, including training and capacity building.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in conservation, digital technology, or a related field.
- Excellent leadership and project management skills.
- Strong background in environmental science, conservation, and digital technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in a related field would be an asset.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in conservation, digital technology, or a related field. They will have a strong background in environmental science, conservation, and digital technology, as well as excellent leadership and project management skills.
Salary
The salary for this position is 80,000 – 120,000 SSP per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
