Job Overview
The E-Commerce Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end fulfillment process within our Ndola hub. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage high-volume inventory, optimize warehouse workflows, and lead a diverse team of associates. You will be tasked with ensuring that every order is processed, packed, and dispatched with maximum efficiency to meet our delivery promises. This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of technology and physical logistics, requiring a deep understanding of how digital orders translate into physical movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operations to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Optimize inventory management systems to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of fulfillment associates and supervisors.
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma or Lean to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including order cycle time, error rates, and labor productivity.
- Collaborate with the technology team to integrate new automated sorting systems.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for operational decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain logistics and last-mile delivery optimization.
- Excellent communication skills in English; local languages are an advantage.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in operations management, specifically within a high-volume e-commerce or retail distribution environment. Proven track record of managing large teams and implementing process improvements is essential for success in this role.
