Job Overview
The Hospital Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of the Zambezi hospital, ensuring efficient delivery of clinical and non‑clinical services. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will be responsible for operational excellence, financial performance, regulatory compliance and patient satisfaction. This role is pivotal in aligning the hospital’s strategic objectives with operational execution, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all hospital operations, including clinical services, support services, facilities management and supply chain.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and standards in line with national regulations and Mediclinic’s global guidelines.
- Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and drive cost‑containment initiatives without compromising quality of care.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, conduct performance reviews, and foster professional development and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with Zambian health authority licensing, accreditation and reporting requirements.
- Monitor key performance metrics, analyse trends and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Coordinate with physicians and department heads to optimise patient flow, reduce waiting times and enhance the overall patient experience.
- Drive quality improvement programmes, patient safety initiatives and infection control protocols.
- Maintain strong relationships with community leaders, government agencies and partner organisations to support public health initiatives.
- Prepare regular operational reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.

Education

Experience
Minimum of 5‑7 years of progressive experience in hospital operations, health services management or a comparable role within a multi‑specialty healthcare facility. Experience in a private‑sector environment and exposure to international healthcare standards are advantageous.
